Jung: Nature and Religion

As I mentioned in my previous post, I've just begun Jung's Memories, Dreams, ReflectionsMemories, Dreams, Reflections and woven through the first two chapters are images and stories that clearly reflect Jung's early fascination with Life – both the end of life and the beauty and mystery of nature. His earliest memories contain beautiful images of "golden sunlight darting through green leaves," the Alps, and looking across an expanse of water which brought him an "inconceivable pleasure" (6,7).

Jung: Deep in Nature

Jung's connection with Nature continued to deepen through his adolescence and he refers to it often in these early chapters of Memories, Dreams, ReflectionsMemories, Dreams, Reflections. After his direct experience of God, being unable to find human consolation or understanding, he sought out the peace and magnificence of Nature, which he felt was "God's world".

A Vivacious Body

Tools for Life Change

The first component of vivacious living is a strong, functional, and happy body.

Jim Rohn once said, "You have to treat your body like a temple. A temple! Not a woodshed."

It is much harder to accomplish our dreams when we feel sick all the time. And, quite often, our minds make it harder to be healthy, for instance, they invite us to stay in bed instead of working out. They remind us that we really prefer ice cream to salad.

Walsch: The Purpose – Saving the World

Once again, Neale Donald Walsch (NDW) has me at 'Hello!' I love it when a book just feels right, like slipping on my boyfriend's sweatshirt – lots of room to move around and still comforting.

Developing Your Mind-Body Connection

Tools for Life Change

Your mind and body cannot decide which one of them leads in the continuous dance of life. Therefore, if you change your body, you can affect your state of mind, and vice versa.

We are an unconscious society, often living numb to both our internal and external environments. We eat foods that numb our minds to the condition of our bodies, and we watch television that fills us with mixed messages about our lives and our bodies. Further, most of us sit at desks for hours every day, allowing the bottom half of our bodies to atrophy.

Learn to Breathe: Pranayama

Mind-Body Wellness

Over the years I've trained dozens of clients and it does not take a full hand of fingers to count the number who could breathe properly when they started with me. We are a culture of chest breathers.

The easiest way to figure out if you are a chest breather is to put one hand on your chest and the other on your belly. Now inhale. And observe what happens to your hands. Most likely, if you are using your normal breath, the hand on your chest moved outwards and upwards while that poor, lonely hand on your belly remained still. That makes you a chest breather.

"So I breathe with my chest," you may say, "so what?"

Attwood: Sneaking a Peek at the Passion Test

Page xiii: Looks good so far, "The Passion TestThe Passion Test provides the simplest, clearest way to get started on knowing what you want." Excellent! I like simple. I like clear. And I already know that one of the things I really want is to know what I want.

Walsch: Our Job

I left off yesterday wondering what it was that we were supposed to do to demonstrate our belief that we are separate from nothing – and hoping that NDW would clue us in so I wouldn't have to figure it out all by myself.

Walsch: I'm Not Sure That God Is Spinach

Last night I read Chapter's 4 through 8 of Tomorrow's GodTomorrow's God. I'm still not halfway but I'm getting there. This section of the book focuses on our changing comprehension of God and the introduction of two new synonyms for God. God is Life. And God is Change.
