Direct Me In Your Paths

“Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes, and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” —

Psalm 119:35-37 (NIV)

~~~
Sometimes I need the reminder to focus inside on what is true, instead of constantly looking outside and comparing myself to everyone who seems to be doing better and making more money and being simply more fabulous then I have even the capacity to be.
Sometimes I need the reminder that worthless things are all around me, calling to me to spend more money, strive more, work harder, and judge myself more critically for not having 'arrived', whatever the eff that is supposed to mean.
Sometimes I need the reminder that I am not meant to live for this world and that I am not to be judged by the small-minded mediocrity of what everybody else thinks I *should* be doing. I am meant to live a life that is authentic and powerful and compassionate and loving.
Sometimes I need the reminder that I am loved and that I am enough… just as I am.
In case you needed that reminder as well, you are welcome.
